ANT 2027 affiliated workshop ↗

Overview

The rapid developments of Internet of Things (IoT), pervasive computing, edge computing, and context-aware systems have resulted in increasingly complex environments in which heterogeneous devices continuously generate large volumes of contextual data of different modalities. Making these systems requires more than collecting and processing data; it requires mechanisms for representing, integrating, interpreting, reasoning over, and exploiting contextual knowledge.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the development and application of ontologies, knowledge representation, contextual data, semantic technologies, and intelligent reasoning for Ambient Systems and Networks.

The workshop particularly encourages contributions that investigate how ontologies can provide a formal semantic layer for representing entities, activities, environments, relationships, events, and contextual information, enabling ambient systems to move from data-driven processing toward knowledge-driven and context-aware intelligence.

We invite original research papers, position papers, application papers, and emerging research studies addressing theoretical foundations, methodologies, architectures, datasets, tools, and real-world applications.

Objectives

1.       Establish a multidisciplinary forum for researchers working on ontologies, contextual data, and Ambient Intelligence.

2.       Explore the integration of explainable data in ambient networks.

3.       Identify open challenges in representing and reasoning about contextual information.

4.       Encourage the development of shared ontologies, datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation methodologies.

5.       Foster collaboration between researchers working in IoT, AI, semantic technologies, pervasive computing, healthcare, and smart environments.

Target Audience

1.       Researchers and academics are interested in applying AI techniques to solve problems related to smart systems.

2.       Data scientists and analysts are seeking to improve their skills in AI-based analytics and decision-making.

3.       IT professionals and engineers work with data multimodalities and explainable smart systems.

4.       Graduate students and aspiring professionals seeking experience in the field of AI and contextual data integration.

5.       Business leaders and decision makers who want to understand how AI can contribute to developing data-driven smart systems.

6.       Policy makers and practitioners are interested in the ethical, social, and regulatory aspects of applying AI to big data.
